As I always say: in a recession of shits to give, know how to budget accordingly.


If time is money, then proper shit allocation is generational wealth.

Yesterday’s post was a bit of an oddball attempt of mine at providing some wisdom in the realm of the strategically practical, with some D.I.Y tips on how to become a better combatant on the virtual battlefield, though the article itself was inspired by my constant bemusement involving my perverse enjoyment of others regular struggles playing Silksong. I had serious doubts the article would land in a satisfying manner, and those doubts were well placed, as the article ended up being about as inviting as a door to door salesman peddling punches to the face. Fair enough, my trade is usually one with a more whimsically cynical air, ephemeral as it is obtusely scrutinizing…perhaps there is no room for more turgid ostentatiousness on my behalf, though in the spirit of evoking the archaic charms present within Saturnalia, a fitting inversion present in that imaginative moor with which to reap such sanguine harvest.

However, in echoing similar sentiments again today, and due to a sad lack of time, only able to briefly touch upon the notion of difficulty, I’m still reveling in the constant speculation and hardened investigations present, in the community attempting to ask “the real questions” in getting to the bottom of “who’s responsible?” for making Silksong so god damn difficult. Not my words, of course, as I have made clear on a number of occasions, I positively delight with glee in the face of such savagery, the masochist that I am, though I believe Silksong itself to be a stern but fair arbiter in the great annals of difficulty. Team Cherry continues to attest to this notion as well, as obviously bias as they would be, though not unfairly so. The hilarious irony of a dev having to point out the obvious to a player base that they “have choices” in their attempts of cultivating their own virtual life is worthy of a giggle, though as mentioned, Silksong comes with an array of paths, tools, strategies, etc…it is not without the kindness of variety, mind.

With all of that said, I provide insight on personal headway made in regards to Silksong. In reference to my lament yesterday as to a possible aimlessness that may be obscured just around the corner, it would seem my Spidey-Sense is still well intact, as what I had originally speculated may be an unfortunate moment of random poking around, ended up being me with the keen intuition to shoot straight to the secret stash of what I required, so my progress remains steadfast. I have another article idea involving psychoanalysis which I look forward to detailing tomorrow when time is on my side, too.
